Pamela Snider, ND was the founding executive director of ACIH, and serves today on ACIH's Board of Directors. She received her ND degree in 1982 from Bastyr University of Natural Health Sciences. A nationally recognized integrative health, policy and naturopathic medicine leader, Snider has directed and been engaged in many national and local integrative health initiatives for over 30 years, including as co-founder on the Executive team and current Vice-Chair of the Integrative  Health Policy Consortium (IHPC). Her work has involved serving as a CMS MCAC Medicare adviser; co-directing an exploration of the connection between public health and complementary and alternative medicine in DHHS, USPHS Region X; playing an important role in drafting and advocating key language in the NCCIH enabling legislation, participating in the White House Commission Report and serving on HRSA's Integrative Medicine in Preventive Medicine Education Steering Committee (ACPMA). She recently served as Chief Culture Officer with the President's Cabinet at Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) and on the Founding Board of the Academy for Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM 2014-2016).

From 1994-2003, Dr. Snider served as Associate Dean for Naturopathic Medicine and Public and Professional Affairs at Bastyr University, dividing her work between academic, and public affairs activities, including chairing the curriculum review committee and its interdisciplinary expert teams. She continues her work there as a member of the faculty and is Associate Professor at the National University of Natural Medicine. She was a co-investigator in the NCCAM-funded The Future and Foundations of Naturopathic Medical Science: the Naturopathic Medicine Research Agenda. She served as an adviser for NCCAM's Financing Integrative Health Care at the University of Washington. Her areas of emphasis include education, curriculum, clinical practice; government, policy, advocacy and legislative affairs; naturopathic and interprofessional theory and philosophy; and organizational culture and professional formation. She is an advocate for interdisciplinary collaboration and public policy which creates health.

Snider is presently founder and executive and senior editor for the International Foundations of Naturopathic Medicine Project, is co-developer of the Naturopathic Medicine Therapeutic Order and co-led AANP establishing its unifying definition and principles (1986-1989). She has numerous publications and lectures widely. Dr. Snider has received the Ontario Naturopathic Physician of the Year Award, Physician of the Year Award (AANP), President's Outstanding Vision Award (Bastyr University), President's Award (AANP), Distinguished Alumna Award (Bastyr University), Beacon Award (NMSA), and the William A. Mitchell Vis Award (AANP).
